◄So, what is a Macraband?

A Macraband is a hand-knotted 100% nylon macramé watchband. We are the “Original Alternative” to leather and metal straps and come in a wide variety of colors, styles and sizes. We look delicate but we wear like iron!

◄How long has Macraband been in business?

Macraband has been in business since 1978, selling our handmade watchbands at juried art and craft shows around the northeastern United States. Now we are bringing them to you at Macraband.com.

◄What are Macrabands made of?

Macraband watchbands are made of 100% nylon cord. The beads are made of either metal, synthetic or natural materials, depending on the specific design.

Since 1978, Macraband has been the “Original Alternative” to leather and metal bands.

◄Can a Macraband accommodate any watch?

Our Macraband watchbands are designed to fit most watches on the market. If your watch uses spring bars, as most do, and has a width between 5/16” and 3/4” then you’re in luck! Measuring your watch width is super easy. Check out our “How to Measure your Watch” guide for instructions.

Unfortunately, some watches with metal bands will not accommodate a Macraband. For more information, please see "Using Watches with Metal Bands" for more information.

◄Is a Macraband as secure as a leather band?

Because of the unique way the Macraband attaches to your watch, it is MUCH more secure than leather bands. On conventional bands, if you lose one spring bar, you could lose your watch. Not with a Macraband! Even with one spring bar, your watch will stay attached. We do however recommend replacing the lost spring bar if one does happen to fall out.

◄Does a Macraband buckle the same way as a leather band?

Yes. All Macrabands have holes in the tail end to accommodate the tongue of the buckle, just like on a leather band. The holes are generally closer together than on a leather band providing you with a more adjustable fit.

◄What are your fluted silver-tone beads made of?

Our fluted silver-tone beads are nickel plated brass.

◄What are your buckles made of?

Our gold-tone buckles are gold-plated brass and our silver-tone buckles are nickel plated brass.

◄Do you make Macrabands for both women and men?

We have made men’s watchbands in the past however at this time we are making bands predominantly for women. But, if you are a guy and find a style that works for your wrist and your watch (and many do accommodate men’s watches) we’d be happy to make it for you!

◄What is a spring bar?

A spring bar is the spring-loaded metal bar that securely attaches most watch bands to a watch.

Did you know we include two free spring bars with every Macraband order? Did you also know we sell additional spring bars under Accessories? Okay, look informed! :-)

Please note: Spring bars are considered an add-on item and therefore can only be purchased along with our Watch Spring Bar Tool and/or Macraband(s).

◄Did you know that we include a free pair of spring bars with every Macraband order?

We include a free pair of spring bars to fit your watch based on the watch width you indicated in your order. You can of course use your original spring bars if you choose.

Additional spring bars, as well as our handy Watch Spring Bar Tool, can be purchased from the Accessories section on Macraband.com.

◄How accurate are the colors shown on the site?

We have made every effort to represent the colors as accurately as possible. However, not all monitors/devices render color the same way. Some variation is to be expected.

Additionally, some minor differences will occur between dye lots and since we use many natural materials, mother nature has a bit of a say as well.

◄What is the price range for a Macraband?

Macrabands without a watch, range in price from $70 to $95 depending on the style and width.  Macrabands with a watch, range from $95 to $132 depending on the style, width and watch.

◄A friend said she was having a problem finding your website. Any ideas why?

People sometimes misspell Macraband as Microband, Macroband, Micraband or Macriband. Our site address is www.macraband.com.

◄Are all Macrabands made to order?

Yes. Macrabands were created to provide a personalized, customized fit for your wrist and your watch. Sure, it would be easier for us to make a one-size-fits-all band, but that’s not what we’re about. Uncompromising quality and a perfect fit for your wrist and your watch, that is Macraband!

◄Do you take custom orders?

Please contact us. If you are looking for a small modification to an existing design, such as changing a bead or a different color combination, we will do our best to accommodate. Depending on the level of customization there may be an up-charge applied.
 Please note, custom orders do take longer to create so bear that in mind if you are purchasing a gift or ordering around holiday time. Custom orders are not refundable.

◄What is the warranty on the watches?

All of the watches we offer on Macraband.com come with a 1 year warranty which covers manufacturer defects. Damages sustained to any part of the watch from accidents or tampering, including scratches to the lens/crystal are not covered by the warranty. The battery is not covered by warranty.

If there is a manufacturer defect, you can return the watch and we will replace it with the same watch (if available) or another watch of equal value.  

◄Will you be offering additional watches in the future?

Absolutely! We are always on the lookout for interesting, well made watches that complement our Macrabands. Please check back from time to time to see what’s new!

◄If I purchased a Macraband previously, can I buy a watch to go with it?

The Macraband you purchased was custom sized for the particular watch length and width you specified when you placed your order. In order to insure that the band fits our watches correctly we ask you to please return your Macraband for a refund. You can then place an order for the same band with the watch of your choice. As per our Exchange/Return Policy, you have 14 days from receipt to return the unworn band to us for an exchange.

◄Are your watches waterproof?

All of our fashion watches and the Timex Cavatina are splash resistant. The Timex Easy Reader is water resistant to 30 meters.

Sizing for Traditional Macrabands

◄What size band should I order?

One of the many benefits of a Macraband is its customized fit for both your watch and your wrist. Check out our helpful instructions for measuring your watch and wrist.

If after measuring your wrist it is smaller than 5" or larger than 8”, please  contact us.

◄Why are there two Macraband widths?

Watches are manufactured in a variety of widths. Our Narrow Macrabands will fit watch widths from 5/16” to 1/2” and in most cases, our Wide will fit watch widths from 7/16” to 3/4”.

Due to the adjustability of a Macraband, a watch width of 7/16" or 1/2” works beautifully on either a Narrow or Wide band. Your choice!

Simply measure your watch width to see whether Narrow or Wide is right for your watch.

◄Are all styles available in both Narrow and Wide?

Yes, all styles are available in both Narrow and Wide and can be seen on the style product page.

◄How come I can choose either Narrow or Wide for my 7/16” or 1/2” watch?

The 7/16” and 1/2” watch width are unique sizes that, in most cases, work great with either a Narrow or Wide band. Each provides a slightly different look. Your choice!

◄I noticed that there’s a price increase for the 3/4” watch width. Home come?

In order to accommodate a 3/4” watch width, additional cords are added, making the design more complex and time consuming to make.

◄My wrist is either smaller or larger than the size options offered. What do I do?

Please contact us and tell us your wrist size. We’ll see if we can make you a Macraband that will fit.

◄My watch length is either smaller or larger than the size options offered. What do I do?

Please contact us and tell us your watch length. We’ll see if we can make you a Macraband that will fit.

Macraband for Apple Watch

◄Do Macrabands for the Apple Watch work with all Apple Watches?

Yes. The current line of Apple Watches includes series 1 through 9. All are supported by Macraband for Apple Watch.

◄What is an Apple Watch adaptor and how do I know which size to specify on my order?

The adaptor is the piece that connects the band to the watch.

The Apple Watch comes in two different sizes within each series. Series 1 thru 3 are either 38mm or 42mm; Series 4 thru 6, SE and SE2 are either 40mm or 44mm. Series 7 thru 9 are either 41mm or 45mm. Check your documentation to see which size watch you own and then select it when you place your order.

◄What are your Apple Watch adaptors made of?

All of the adaptors we use in our Macraband for Apple Watch are made from stainless steel.

◄Some Apple watches are designed to be worn under water; what about my Macraband?

First and foremost, please refer to the specifications for your Apple Watch series to determine its level of water resistance.

With regard to Macraband for Apple Watch, our bands can be submerged in water. In fact, we encourage you to show them a little love on occasion and give them a bath. Here’s how.

◄There are several Macrabands for Apple Watch that I really like! How easy is it to change the band?

One of the great things about the Apple Watch is how quick and easy it is to change the band! No special tools are required. Check out this FAQ on the Apple Support page to find out how.

◄I love the stripes in style 301. Is it possible to request the colors of my favorite sports team, school, etc.?

◄Can I put my traditional Macraband on my Apple Watch?

Unfortunately, no. Macrabands made for traditional style watches cannot be attached to the Apple Watch.

◄How does the Macraband for Apple Watch differ from Macraband for traditional watches?

Macraband for Apple Watch is made in two pieces rather than one. The Apple watch has sensors on the back which need to come in contact with your wrist. We designed the Macraband for Apple Watch in two pieces so that the back is not covered.

◄I just received my Macraband for Apple Watch from collection 306. It looks a little different from the picture, how come?

The design element for the Macraband for Apple Watch in collection 306 is a chevron (^). In order to best balance the length of the band with the design and to assure ample room to buckle, sizes Medium and Long use three chevrons on each side while our Small size uses two.

◄Do you sell Apple Watches?

No, we do not sell the Apple Watch. Please visit your local Apple store or authorized Apple reseller…then come back and order a Macraband for Apple Watch!

◄Will you be offering Macraband for FitBit or Android?

We are working on it. Stay tuned!

Policies

◄What is your Exchange / Return Policy?

We want you to be completely satisfied with your Macraband watchband purchase. If for any reason you are not, you may return your unworn Macraband for a full refund, less shipping and handling, within 14 days of receipt.

If you would like to exchange your Macraband the easiest way is to return the unworn band within 14 days of receipt for a refund, less shipping and handling and then place an order for a new band.

We ask that you please return the item in the original gift box and include the invoice or order number in the return packaging. We also recommend returning your Macraband in the original shipping box. Your refund will be issued upon receipt of the Macraband, via the method of original payment.

You will be responsible for paying your own shipping costs when returning your item, whether for an exchange or a refund.

Please note, gift cards are non-refundable/exchangeable.

◄Can you ship to a PO box?

Yes.

◄Will I receive a tracking number when my order ships?

Yes. When your Macraband ships you will receive an email from us with a link to your tracking information.

◄What is the lead time on receiving my Macraband?

All Macrabands are made to order and we knot them up in the order we receive them. We do our best to get them out to you as quickly as possible. In general, there is a 2-4 week lead time on all orders, however order volume may impact this timeframe.

◄Can I cancel my order before it is shipped?

Yes. If you need to cancel an order that we're making for you, please contact us. If we've already shipped your order then please read our Exchange/Return Policy for information on returning your item.

◄Do you collect sales tax?

Yes. We collect sales tax on all orders within the state of New York.

◄Do you offer quantity discounts?

Yes we do. If you purchase two or more Macrabands with a ship-to address in the US, the shipping is on us!

◄Do you ever run sales or specials?

We sure do! When you create an account, you are automatically added to our email list. Specials and sales will be announced to our subscribers first. And don’t worry, we promise not to spam your inbox, we hate that too. Besides, we’re just too busy making Macrabands to spend time sending you lots of emails.

◄Can I combine discount codes?

At this time only one discount code can be applied during checkout.

◄What are the care and feeding instructions for my Macraband?

Keeping your Macraband clean is easy! All you need is a mild soap, warm water and a soft toothbrush.

We have created a “Care and Feeding” page with instructions and pictures. You must check out the before and after image. It’s amazing!

◄How do I create an account on macraband.com?

Just click the “customer login” icon in the upper right of any page on Macraband.com, then click “sign up”. Please fill out the form to create a secure password and answer the security question. You will receive an email asking you to click a confirmation link to complete the account creation process. That’s it!

Not sure if you have an account or forgot your password? Click “forgot your password” on the customer login page and we will email you a reset link if you have an account. If you see the message, "no account found with that email", then please create an account.

◄What is the difference between creating an account and joining your mailing list?

An Account: In order to make a purchase, you will need to create a password protected account. Your order history will now be securely store in your account, so you can refer back to it at any time. You will also be added to our email list and our free loyalty program, Macra-Points! Click HERE for all the information about this program!

Mailing List: When you provide your email address, but do not create a password, you will be added to our mailing list for periodic email communications about sales and other announcements.

◄How do I see my Order History?

Once you create an account, you can log in at any time to view your order history. Then simply click on any one of your previous purchases to review the order details, including both your wrist and watch measurements, so you don’t have to re-measure each time you place an order.

◄I forgot my password, what do I do?

Simply click the “customer login” icon in the upper right of any page on Macraband.com, then click, “forgot your password”. If you have an account, we will email you a reset link. If you see the message, "no account found with that email", then please create an account.

◄Do you offer Gift Cards?

Yes, we do! Just select “Macraband Gift Cards” under “Our Products”.

◄Do you offer gift wrapping?

Not at this time, but if the demand warrants we may do so in the future.

◄Do you or will you be selling Macrabands in stores or at craft shows?

Not at this time. Macraband.com is the exclusive place to purchase a Macraband.

◄Do traditional Macrabands work with the Apple Watch?

Unfortunately, no. Macrabands made for traditional style watches cannot be attached to the Apple Watch. See our "Macraband for Apple Watch Collection" for our designs specifically created for the Apple Watch.

◄How long after I place my order will it ship?

All Macrabands are hand-knotted in the order they are received.  Generally, they are shipped 2-4 weeks from receipt. However, timeframes may vary at peak times of the year.  If you require faster turnaround for a special gift, please put that information in the notes or contact us; we will do our best to accommodate.
